Carrie Heffner Obituary

Mrs. Carrie C. "Neenie" Heffner, 88, entered into rest on Thursday, June 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Heffner, her mother Gertrude White, stepfather, Marvin E. White, and her brother and sister, Bobby Clem and Gerry Selby.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 19, 2025, beginning at 4 PM at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6 PM in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Dexter Lambert will officiate.
Left to cherish Neenie's memory are her children: Connie Stoume (Bobby), Johnny Heffner, Dianne Heffner, and Jamie Heffner; grandchildren: Mandy Dyer, who was like a daughter, Bobby Toole, Christopher Eagan, Kyleigh Eagan, Alexis Moxley, and Desarae Heffner, and one great-grandson, Zack Toole.
Mrs. Heffner was born in Plum Branch, SC. She was formerly a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She loved camping, boating, cooking, and fish fries. Neenie spent her life loving and caring for children. Some of the children she cared for while their parents worked consider Neenie to be their family. When she and her family went camping, it was nothing for her to invite children from all over the neighborhood to go with them. Most came from families with five or six children and going on family vacations would have been far too costly. Her daughters said that they could easily have ten or more children running around their campsite. Neenie always made them all feel welcomed and loved.
