Carolyn Stone Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carolyn M Stone, a beloved mother, grandmother, educator, and cherished resident of Aiken, South Carolina. Carolyn departed this life peacefully on Monday, July 21st, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on Wednesday, January 2nd, 1935, in California, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Otis and Marcella Ferrill. Her life's journey took her to many places, yet she found her true home in Aiken, a community she dearly loved and served for many years. A dedicated scholar, Carolyn earned her Master's Degree in Administration and went on to touch countless lives as a teacher. Her passion for education was only rivaled by her love for her family and her enthusiasm for the sport of tennis. Carolyn was the devoted wife of the late Charles E Stone and now joins him and her parents in eternal rest. She leaves behind a loving family including her daughter, Penny Kornreich, and son-in-law, Andrew, both of Aiken. Carolyn's legacy lives on through her five cherished grandchildren: Victoria, Tobias, Thomas, Timothy, and Tillianna Kornreich, who were her pride and joy. Her commitment to her family and community was unwavering, and she inspired many with her kind spirit and dedication. Outside of the classroom, Carolyn's interests included advocating for youth sports. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CSRA Heat Volleyball Club in Augusta, GA, supporting a cause she held close to her heart. Services are being arranged by the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234. Carolyn M Stone's presence in our lives was a gift, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Carolyn, as your spirit continues to inspire and your legacy lives on in those who follow in your footsteps. Earlier today

I know how much Carolyn will be missed by her Daughter Penny, Son-in-law Andrew and her five grandchildren. But knowing they were all with her at the time of her passing is of great comfort to them and Carolyn. Carolyn was blessed to have them by her side as they were blessed to be there. Our thoughts are with the family.
