Carolyn Corbitt Obituary
Mrs. Carolyn Green "BabyGirl" Corbitt was born on March 13. 1955, to the late Lottie and Isaac Green, Sr. in Aiken County, South Carolina. Carolyn attended the Aiken County Public School System. At an early age, Carolyn accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and she joined Three Mile Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Carolyn was a loving and sweet caregiver and babysitter, but most of all, she loved her family. On August 21, 1976, Carolyn was united in marriage to Mr. Edgar Corbitt until her untimely death, over 49 years. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Lottie Green; her father, Isaac Green, Sr.; one brother, Eddie Gilbert, Sr.; three sisters, Lillie Lottie Green, Peggy Johnson, and Johnetta Gilbert; mother-in-law, Sadie Corbitt; father-in-law, Willie Jackson; sister-in-law, Willie Jean Bates; and brothers-in-law, Roy Corbitt and Earl Corbitt. Carolyn leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Edgar Corbitt; son, Demont Gilbert of Ellenwood, GA; daughter, Sarita Green of Aiken, SC; stepdaughters, Mary Ann (George) Jones of Effingham, SC, and Felicia (Marshall) Scott of Augusta, GA; granddaughters, Ashli (Jermond) Smith of Graniteville, SC, and Kellie Scott of Augusta, GA; grandson, Tyler Scott of Augusta, GA; great-grandsons, Ryker and Rylan Smith of Graniteville, SC; and special niece, Valerie Johnson of Augusta, GA. She also leaves two brothers, Isaac Green, Jr. of New Ellenton, SC, and Ash Robert (Sarah) Green of Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law include Emma Corbitt of Augusta, GA; Leola Corbitt, Linda Corbitt, and Elizabeth McCorkle, all of New Ellenton, SC; Mary Lewis of Jackson, SC; and Betty (Jimmy) Ashley of Jackson, SC; brother-in-laws, Bernard Bates of Jackson, SC, Lewis McCorkle of Jackson, SC, Freddie Lewis of Aiken, SC; special family member, Tywanna Gilbert; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
