Carol Vutech Obituary
Carol Joanne Vutech, beloved wife of the late Vernon F. Vutech, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on September 21, 2025, in her home, at Mount Vintage in North Augusta, South Carolina. Carol lived a wonderful, long life, devoted to her family, friends, pets, and the simple joys that made her days rich with meaning. She lived in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts and raised her family with Vern, while having her career as a secretary at Manchester Memorial and later for the Superintendent of Manchester Public Schools. In her retirement years, Carol followed her heart to places that brought her peace and joy-first to Ipswich, MA, then Hobe Sound, FL, and ultimately settling in North Augusta, SC. Along the way, she built a life filled with friendships, hobbies, and laughter. She was a proud member of the Manchester Bath and Tennis Club, Ipswich Country Club, Hobe Sound Country Club and, most recently, Mount Vintage Golf Club. At the very center of Carol's life was her family. She was the cornerstone-the heart and soul of every gathering, celebration, and memory. Her love ran deep, and she had an extraordinary way of making everyone feel cherished and fostering everyone's individual relationships. She is survived by her children: Kathy (Vutech) Ciaccio and husband Charles of Cape Coral, FL; Kenneth Vutech and wife Tambrey of Woodstock, VT; Dr. Thomas Vutech and wife Michele of Naples, FL; and Nancy (Vutech) Williams and husband Kenny of Winchester, CA. She was a proud and loving grandmother to twelve grandchildren; Joshua, CJ (late), Matthew, Katy, and John; Ashley and Alex; Taylor, Austin, and Anika; Samantha and Matthew, along with seven great-grandchildren. Carol had a deep love for all animals. Her dogs-Buster and Lola, and before them, Mitzy, Sampson, and Barney-were not just pets, but family. They were her constant companions, and she cherished the memories of the years spent with them. Her compassion for animals reflected her nurturing spirit and her boundless capacity for love. She was a woman of many interests-an avid sports fan who also enjoyed participating in skiing, tennis, and especially golf. She could be found cheering for the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, her favorite golf professionals and more. Her competitive spirit lived on in the Family Football Pool she ran weekly during football season with pride. Her sense of fun extended to casinos-never passing up a chance to play her favorite slot machine, Crazy Money, even if it meant FaceTiming with one of her children or grandchildren to play on her behalf. At various points throughout her life, Carol enjoyed oil painting, sailing, flounder fishing, card groups and spending time traveling on cruises and other vacations. Her evenings were often spent with a good Manhattan in hand, playing online bridge or card games. Carol especially loved her time with card-playing friends and family-Bridge, Canasta, Gin Rummy, and the ever-popular Family Card Game "Furley" were treasured traditions. Nothing brought Carol more happiness than feeding the people she loved. Whether hosting a Sunday prime rib dinner or preparing sandwiches for a repairman, she always made sure no one left her home hungry. Her family recipes were made with love and are remembered fondly. While everyone knew the meals would be memorable, they also knew: "Grammy doesn't do drinks." Carol's life will be celebrated privately by her family, who will gather to share stories, laughter, and the enduring love she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or rescue organization - causes that were near and dear to Carol's heart. Rest peacefully, Carol. Until next time…
