Carl White Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Carl White was born July 2, 1935 in Mount Vernon, New York to the late Mr. Elzie George and Louise White in a Christian home grounded in a healthy respect for all people. He departed this life on Monday, May 16, 2016 at PruittHealth Care Facility in Aiken, South Carolina.
Memorial services for Mr. White will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 130 Independent Blvd, Aiken, SC 29803 with Rev. C.A. Scott, Pastor.
Carl was united in holy matrimony with Gwendolyn Reddick White in November 1961, and from that union, Stephanie and Steven White were born.
In addition to his parents Elzie George and Louise White, Carl was preceded in death by a brother and two step sisters.
Carl leaves behind a loving wife, Gwendolyn R. White of more than 54 years of marriage; a daughter, Stephanie L. White of Roosevelt, NY, a son, Steven White of Los Angeles, CA, two grand children, Lennox & Josephine White and their mother Annabeth of Los Angeles, CA, a sister, Elsie White of Mount Vernon, NY, eight sister-in-laws, Jean R. Rouse and Marie Reddick of Augusta, GA, Barbara McLean (Michael) & Luretha O'Conner (William) of Aiken, SC, Celestine Johnson of South Hackensack, NJ, Anne Marshall (Charles) of Atlanta, GA, Gloria Reddick (Albert) of Freeport, NY, and Doreatha Bradley of West Hempstead, NY; many God children and Mentees, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Sorrowing Friends.

Dear Mrs. White and Family, your husband, father and friend was my teacher nearly 50 years ago at Chaminade High School on Long Island. He was an outstanding educator, and also an exceptional human being. Decades later I have never forgotten his impact upon my life, and I strive every day to be the kind of teacher Carl White was.
