Blanche Brant Obituary

Blanche M. Brant 69, of Hopewell, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at Riverview on the Appomattox.

She is the daughter of the late Matthew and Annie Laura Lewis Pierce.

Mrs. Brant is survived by her husband, Merle Irvin Brant Sr.; a son, Merle I. Brant Jr. of Georgia; two daughters, Diane M Teal of Powhatan and Connie F. Able of Disputanta; a brother, John Albert Pierce of Richmond; a sister, Mary Worley of Richmond; and four grandchildren, Tabatha, Chance, Samuel and Chey Anne.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Va., with a procession to leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
