Bettye Thornton Obituary
JACKSON - Funeral Services for Mrs. Bettye Thornton, 84, who entered into rest November 29, 2017, will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of Jackson. Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Interment in Jackson Memorial Park.
Mrs. Thronton was a native of Macon County, Alabama having made Jackson her home for the past 65 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, the Dorcus Sunday School Class and a former Children's Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Thornton retired from the office of Dr. Paul Cundey, Jr. and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was the wife of the late Bobby Thornton.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Thornton, Jackson and Greg (Sherrie) Thornton, Barnwell; seven grandchildren, Heather Thornton Brailsford, Ashley Thornton, Jesse Thornton, Tonya Lanigan, Ron Doyle, Brandon Hess and Conner Hess; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Felix Thornton, Red Hill, Alabama and Dwight Thornton, Notasulga, Alabama; a sister, Linda Andrews, Dadeville, Alabama.
The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service.

I worked with Ms Bettye many years ago. i will always remember her as a kind, soft spoken,compassionate, and loving woman. She was loved by all her patients and coworkers. i am deeply saddened by her passing. my condolences to her family. Sincerely,
