Betty Norris
North Augusta - Betty Corley Norris, daughter of the late Everett Corley and the late Annie Corley Pritchard peacefully entered into rest in her home on November 7, 2021 after an extended illness in the care of Crescent Hospice Care. She was preceded in death by her sister, Aleene Livingston of Anderson, SC. She was born in Warrenville, SC and eventually married her high school sweetheart, Gerald R. Norris, to whom she was married for 54 years until his death in 2005. She supported her husband while he attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and supported his music ministry to churches in Kentucky, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina and Georgia. Her love and devotion to her husband and two sons were immeasurable. In return, her daily guidance, perseverance and unyielding spiritual devotion will be forever cherished by her family.
She was a Civil Servant, serving as a Data Review Technician for the Social Security Administration until her retirement. She faithfully attended TrueNorth Church in North Augusta, SC as long as her health permitted. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Rev. Dr. Kenneth R. Norris (Teri) of Lexington, SC and Keith L. Norris (Christine) of North Augusta, SC. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kirstin Bolt (Matthew) and Megan Norris of Simpsonville, SC; and two step-grandchildren, Taylor Roberts of Santa Barbara, California and Dr. Chris Roberts (Dr. Cara) of Hartsville, SC.; she is also survived by one niece, Anne Pitts (Wade) of Anderson, SC and one nephew John F. (Chip) Livingston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Ministries, 810 Maxwell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 or the Oliver Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 7697 Columbia, SC 29202. In adherence to her wishes, there will be no funeral or graveside services and interment will be private.
