COLUMBIA, SC - Mrs. Bertha Johnson Wimberly, age 89, of 107 Markham Road, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Providence Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 12PM Friday, January 8, 2016 at Second Baptist Church, 425 Hampton Ave NW, Aiken, SC 29801 (Viewing 11am-12pm) with Rev. Dr. Douglas A. Slaughter, Pastor. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; Bessie (Chavous) and Arniscus Johnson and a son, Lafayette Wimberly.
She leaves to cherish her memory; a daughter, Peggy (Dewayne) Crowell; three sons, Johnny (Alberta) Wimberly, Albert (Denise) Wimberly, and Carl (Thomasina) Wimberly; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
