AIKEN - Mr. Bennie Pope, age 98, widower of Bernice Birts Pope, who passed away August 1, 2025, entered eternal rest Friday, September 5, 2025 in a Charlotte, NC hospital. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, 1167 Lincoln Ave. Aiken, SC 29801. Burial will follow 12 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC. A veteran of World War II, he is survived by two daughters, Cynthia D Evans, Patrice Pope Jackson, and one son, Bennie Augustus Pope; grandchildren; other relatives and loving friends. Friends may visit at JACKSON-BROOKS FUNERAL HOME 126 Fairfield St. SE, Aiken, SC 29801 from 3-7 PM Friday.
