Ben Christenbury Obituary
ROCK HILL, SC - Mr. Ben Leroy Christenbury passed Sunday, July 24, 2016 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Mr. Christenbury was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Etta Katherine Pittman Christenbury. Ben was also preceded in death by his mother and father, Rosa Nantz and Ben Christenbury, Sr., his brother Joseph W. Christenbury and half-brother Allen Christenbury. Surviving are four sons, Ben W. Christenbury (Anne), Mark V. Christenbury, Damon L. Christenbury (Laura) and Glenn A. Christenbury (Laura), eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Ben was born in Charlotte, NC and remained a long time resident until relocating to Aiken, SC, then to Rock Hill, SC. Ben was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy, stationed mainly along the coast of Mexico. He was a graduate of North Carolina State College and had a successful career as a Residential Systems Specification Engineer retiring from Duke Power. Along with his wife, Ben provided well for his four sons, ensuring they attended college, and set them off on successful careers.
He will be buried in Aiken, SC beside his beloved wife, Etta.
All services are private.
Bratton Funeral Home in York, S.C. will be serving the Christenbury family.
