Barrie Baker Obituary
WAGENER - Wagener - Mr. Barrie Ray Baker, 77, entered into his heavenly home on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Mr. Barrie is the husband of Sylvia Hall Baker. They have been married 56 years. He is the father of Melanie Baker Heyward and her husband Duane, and Daphne Baker Knight and her husband Billy. Mr. Barrie is the grandfather "Gramps" of Jessica Jackson (friend Carlos Turcios-Brizuela), Christopher Werts (friend Chyanne Kerley), Jennifer Moore (friend Jonathan Buyers), and Lindsey Heyward. Mr. Barrie is the great grandfather who is also lovingly called "Gramps" of Sadie Kennedy, Viviana Meave Brizuela, Maddie Werts, Jackson Kerley, Savannah Thomas, and Colton Thomas. He is the brother of Sheryl (Wallace) Kitchings. Mr. Barrie is the son of the late John Thomas Baker and the late Marion Feagin Baker Duffie.
Mr. Barrie is a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Senior Adult Sunday School Teacher. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Cuban Crises. Mr. Barrie enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He retired from Savannah River after 22 years.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Rocky Grove Baptist Church. A Service Celebrating Mr. Barrie's life will follow at 11 a.m. with the Revs. John O'Cain and Kenneth Hood officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Deacons will be Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Heart Foundation, PO Box 5216 Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216 or Sylvia Baker at 222 Lee St., Wagener, SC 29164.

Sylvia, my condolences to all of your family. Y´all were the BEST of neighbors & we really missed you when you moved. I can remember seeing Barrie fishing early in the mornings & he looked like he was dressed for Alaska fishing Love you all
