Barbara Joe Stokes Steadman
AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Barbara Joe Stokes Steadman, 73, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at her home.
A lifelong resident of Aiken, Mrs. Steadman was a daughter of the late Joseph Russell and Viola Weatherford Stokes. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.
She was a member of Marion Street Baptist Church.
She was a LPN at Aiken Hospital for many years, where she enjoyed helping people. She also worked at East Aiken Elementary as a Teachers Aide, Attendance Clerk, and school Nurse.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Penland officiating.
Pallbearers are David Willing, Robbie Willing, Tim Chapman, Carl Chapman, Johnnie Chapman, Dean Chapman.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Sidney Lee Steadman, Jr.; a daughter, Sabrina Traci Steadman (Jimmy); sons, Shaun JoeLee Steadman, and Stuart Russell Steadman, and a close family friend Jeff Wiley; Grandchildren, Ryan Thomas, Sydney Hallman, Sierra Steadman, Bonnie Steadman, Shauna "Cassy" Steadman and Chloe Steadman; and Pet Chihuahua "Chico". And many Nieces and Nephews.
In addition to her parents Joseph Russell Stokes and Viola Weatherford Stokes, she is predeceased by her sister Gertrude Stokes Lybrand, Brothers; Ray Stokes, Leroy Stokes and Cleburn Stokes.
