Barbara Rector Obituary
Aiken - Barbara Ann Rector, 73, wife of Herbert Rector, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Augusta University Medical Center. A Celebration of her Life will be held 11AM Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Park Baptist Church, Beech Island with Rev. Daviad Mitchem, officiating. Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was an educator in the Aiken County Public School District.
In addition to her husband, Herbert, survivors include her children; Kinya Shakur (Tony) Travis and Tabore Herbert Rector; two grandchildren, Harmony and Nova Travis; two siblings, Sadie Dortch and Douglas (Rose) Dortch, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Friends may call JACKSON-BROOKS CHAPEL 606 N Main Street New Ellenton, SC (803)649-6123 on Friday from 3PM-8PM.

Barbara and I attended exercise classes together at Gregg Park, Graniteville, SC, for many years. Because we shared the same name, we would always chuckle when one of us would say, "good morning, Barbara" followed by the other saying "good morning, Barbara." She will be remembered by all who knew her. My sympathy to her husband and all her family.
