Barbara A. Peel
AIKEN - Barbara A. Peel passed away September 10, 2025 from complications of Parkinson's Disease, she was 94 years old. She was born on the family farm to Ora and Juanita Booth in 1931. She started school at the age of 5 in a one-room school house. In high school she started preparing for training to be an X-ray technician. She worked as a technician for 48 years.
Barbara moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Aiken, South Carolina in 1987. She stayed busy in the fall selling tickets for the Aiken Women's Heart Show. Besides this Barbara had her hands and heart in numerous activities. She was on the Kalmia Landing Board and Planning committee. She was awarded the resident of the year twice. Barbara was known by many as the Energizer Bunny. She just could not stay still. She lived a very full and busy life. Everyone who met her became a quick friend.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Steve) Pratte of Boothbay, Maine; grandson Christopher Pratte of Barre, Vermont; step children Lisa Hines (Christopher) of Kansas City, Missouri; Mitch Wixon (Anita) Lathrop, Missouri and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Deceased before her were her parents, Ora and Juanita Booth, her husband Frank Peel, a son Steven Laurie and a stepdaughter, Johniece Carter.
Thanks to everyone that loved my mama and remember nothing dies that can be remembered.
