Barbara Epting Beiers Couch
AIKEN, SC - A celebration of life service for Mrs. Barbara Epting Beiers Couch age 80 will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Dyer and Chaplain Reilly Hammond, and Clint Brotemarkle officiating. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Couch entered into rest Friday, April 29, 2016 at her residence. She was a native of Greenville, SC and had made Aiken her home for the past 35 years. Mrs. Couch was the beloved wife of 12 years to Mr. Michael Dale Couch and a daughter of the late Mr. Carl Epting, Sr. and the late Mrs. Carolyn Watkins Epting. She attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC prior to completing her studies at the University of South Carolina Aiken where she graduated in 1982 with a bachelors degree in early childhood education. Mrs. Couch continued her education and received her Masters in Library Science at USCA in 1989. She taught at South Aiken Baptist School, Aiken, Wagener Elementary School, Wagener, Allendale Elementary, Allendale, and was the Librarian at J.D. Lever Elementary School, Aiken. Mrs. Couch retired as a teller with the Wood Forest National Bank, Richland Avenue location in 2015. She was a member of Couchton Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include two sons, William Kenneth Beiers, Jr., Columbia, SC, Todd (Tricia) Beiers, Lexington, SC; two daughters, Deborah (Bruce) Horton, Englewood, FL, Carla (John) Riley, Livermore, CA; one brother, Carl Edward Epting, Jr., Daytona Beach, FL, ten grandchildren. Mrs. Couch was predeceased by her first husband Mr. William Kenneth Beiers, Sr.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggest that memorials be made to the Aiken Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1314 Pine Log Road, Aiken, SC 29803.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
