BEECHISLAND- Mrs. Barbara Odum Blackburn, 78, wife of the late Mr. Melvin P. Blackburn, Sr., entered into rest on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.
Born in Swainsboro, GA, a daughter of the late Richard Wardell and Mattie Jewell McBride Odum, she had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, since the age of 13. She was a member of Bath First Baptist Church, Bath, SC. Mrs. Blackburn enjoyed working in her yard, flowers, crafts and cooking.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her children and their spouses, Patti and Jerry Toole, Beech Island, SC, Melvin, Jr. and Shannon Blackburn, Beech Island, SC, Jennifer and Pastor Jason Feemster, Graniteville, SC and the late Janice Bryant, siblings, Calvin Odum, Oscar Odum, Bernie Hall and Ennis Odum, grandchildren, Kerri Toole Holtsizer and her husband, Chris, Dana Thomas and her husband, Robert, Kelli Harris and her husband, Jacob, Kyle Bryant and his wife, Heather, Bailey Blackburn, Hannah Blackburn, Matthew Blackburn, Carsyn Feemster, Emma Jane Feemster, Charlotte Feemster, Jessie Spradley and his wife, Brandy, and Tonya Spradley, great-grandchildren, Erin Holtsizer, Evan Holtsizer, Nolan Holtsizer, Chloe Thomas and Robby Thomas, Lily Thomas, Jani Harris, Juli Harris, Ali Harris, Jake Harris, Steven Lewis and his wife, Bentli, Katelyn Spradley. She was also Grandmother to many who were not kin to her.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 21, 2017, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 in the chapel. Her son-in-law, Pastor Jason Feemster will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
