Thank you everyone for your comforting words and prayers. Sherryl and Aubry look to the hills for which your help and strength comes from. To my big brother I will miss you. I know the Lord dosesn't make mistakes for we will understand it better by and by. I'll see you on the other side.

Cheryl and Aubry you both know how much you all mean to me as family and even though we have lost a loved one we must remain as one and"Trust in The Lord" because through him all things are posible.

As I think of Greg,George Eliot's words come to mind "Friendship is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person,having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words".In 30 years of friendship Greg always made us feel safe.His friendship was and will always be the union of spirits here on earth, he has now taken it to the next level.

It seems as though we've been sitting on the same benches for a long time cheering our girls to victory! Alaina and I were saddened to hear of your loss. You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Alaina will never forget all of the supportive advice that Gregory gave her. He was a proud father and a tremendous human being.

Sherryl, You & your family are in my prayers. I was saddened to hear of Greg's untimely death. You & he, along w/ all the black students during our days at LSU( when we all knew each other) added to my being. I think we all learned a little something from each other in those days of adversity and discovery. Greg will be missed, because he's gone to his heavenly home, but he is remembered because he's a part of of us all and he touched so many.

"GREG, JOB WELL DONE!" You truely made the most of your time here.

To Sheryl, you have my deepest sympathy at the time of our loss.

To Aubry and Yez,a collection of memories of our dad can be shared between us. Physically, he is no longer amongst us for either one of us and no matter where we stood as a family we all have to deal with this loss. To Aubry and the entire Cook family, my deepest sympathies upon hearing of the tragic passing of Mr. Cook. Although I did not know him well, Mr. Cook did teach me how to wear a baseball cap. I will forever remember that you cannot walk into the Cy-Fair High School Gymnasium without your hat turned around backwards. God be with you all for Mr. Cook is without pain and he is looking down upon you all with great joy.

God bless you and your family with the passing of Greg. I used to watch the CookieMan play basketball at LSU and can not remember a player play with the intensity, zeal and passion as Greg did.....The Good Lord has himself a Champion Player on his Roster.....Geaux CookieMan!!

Aubrey has always had the most dazzling of smiles and I would be in awe of her at Hamilton when her and Val played for the Tigers together.

Even here in the halls of Cy-Fair, Aubrey is a bright and shining light and it has been an honor to know you and see what a wonderful young lady you have grown to be!

Know Valerie and I are here at school and in the neighborhood should you ever need us. Cherish the time you had, the memories and love you shared with your dad and continue to make him proud as you leave Cy-Fair and make a name for yourself in the record books of college basketball, as your father did before you. It will be your's, and his, greatest legacy!

I am so glad to say I had the pleasure to talk to Greg recently. Although I had not spoken with him in a while, we chatted and laughed like we did in the past. I didn't know Mr. Cook, but as a tried and true LSU fan I remember his basketball playing days well. I followed the 1981 team all the way to the Final Four. I remember the "cookieman" for his basketball playing ability. As a true LSU fan, I will always remember him and I think I speak for all LSU fans when I say the day I got the news of "Cookieman's" passing was a sad day indeed.

I've never met you and your daughter but I know in my heart you're good people because of the person Greg was. We called him Cookie Man in Baton Rouge. My former husband (Gary Williams) and Greg were great friends and even though he may have told you he didn't eat duck, I stand as a witness that not only Greg ate duck at our house but heckled me to make it for him again. He found it really funny to rear-end my husband's Benz, and had a good laugh watching as Gary got out of the car to find out it was Greg Cook that hit the car! Greg got out of his car...like "what are you gonna do?" He is already missed and our prayers are with you wherever you go. Remember that Mr. Cook has fulfilled his earthly obligations, but now is being rewarded with God's eternal and unconditional love.

We both wanted to say that we followed LSU basketball. During "Cookie Man's time at LSU.

We took our two children with us and we went all over the country following them, I was at the final four in Cherryhill, PA in 1981.

Craig was a true gentleman, he was warm and friendly with everyone and always a smile for the children.

We still have a picture of our 9 year old daughter setting on his lap and she thought the world of him.

I remember a wednesday night in Oxford, Ms (Ole Miss). We had just won and we were in enemy territory and we got down on the court and was congratuing the guys and one of the Ole Miss fan was joking one of the Ole Miss players and giving him a hard time about their play.

Creg broke in and told the fan that he should lay off and before he started talking about the players ability, he should go out on the court and try to hit a few shots without any pressure and see how it works out.

Again we grieve for the families loss and want you to know that we grieve also, because Craig had a important place in helping me raise my family and get positive influence from other people.
