Anthony Coffaro Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Coffaro Jr., a beloved husband, uncle, and friend, on Saturday, November 9th, 2024. Born on Friday, June 30th, 1944, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Anthony lived a life full of love, dedication, and service. Anthony made his home in Aiken, SC, where he was a cherished member of the community and an active participant in local affairs. He was married to his lifelong partner for 59 years, sharing a union filled with unwavering support and mutual respect. Together, they fostered an environment of love and charity, influencing all who had the pleasure of knowing them. Professionally, Anthony dedicated 40 years of his life as a buyer for Johnson & Johnson, earning a reputation for integrity and commitment. He was a proud American and served his country in the United States Air Force. In his personal life, Anthony served as the president of the Aiken Republican Club for seven years, where he was admired for his leadership and passion for civic matters. His dedication to his beliefs was demonstrated when, thanks to his loving wife and despite being ill, he faithfully demonstrated his civic duty and cast his absentee ballot for the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. A devout member of St. John's Methodist Church, Anthony also contributed as a former usher, reinforcing his commitment to his faith and community. Anthony's life and spirit are celebrated by his beloved wife, Jo Anne Sandeko Coffaro, his sister, Loretta Laporte of South River, NJ; his nephew, Joseph Filippoli; and his beloved nieces, Elaine Billingsley, Jennifer Koukourdelis, Nancy Johnston, and Cynthia Catalano. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Coffaro Sr. and Ann Coffaro, whose legacy he carried forth with grace and kindness. A funeral service to honor Anthony's life will be held at St. John's Methodist Church, 104 Newberry Street NW, Aiken, SC 29801, on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, at 1pm. The service will be officiated by Dr. Tim McClendon & Rev. Butch Blackwell.
