I had the privilege of meeting Annette her first year as Assistant Principal at Busbee Elementary School in Wagener,SC. As the Assistant Principal of J.D. Lever in Aiken, SC. I was attending a math conference in Greenville, SC. When she realized I would be alone she generously invited me to travel with her group. Needless to say, that made my attendance much more fun and end lightening. Years later I needed a ride to the Lexington Oncology Center for an iron transfusion. Annette drove from Aiken to Wagener to pick me pick me up to go on to West Columbia. After waiting for my three hour appointment she took me to eat and drove me home. She still had to drive back to Aiken. These are but two examples of her friendship and Christ like behavior. Her passing deeply saddens me. All who knew her as family or friend and all the lives will be greatly missed. It was an honor to know her and call her a friend.

I had the privileg e of meeting Annette her first year as Assistant Principal at Busbee Elementary School in Wagener, SC. I was the Assistant Principal at J.D. Lever in Aiken, SC. I was attending a math conference in Greenville, SC. Since I was going to be alone Annette generously invited me to go with her group. That is how we met and became friends. One day I needed a ride to Lexington Medical Center for an iron transfusion. Annette offered to take me. This meant her driving from Aiken to pick me up and then driving to West Columbia where the infusions took place. She waited on me for the three hour appointment. She cheerfully treated me to lunch and drove me home. Those two actions were indicative of the kind and truly Christ like behavior she showed as a true friend. It was truly an honor to be her friend. Annette will be sorely missed by all who knew her and the countless lives she touched.

Forever grateful that you said "I DO!" to Gary and the start of 23+ years of "making memories" as you often remarked.
All the goodness and love you wore throughout your lifetime continues to be woven in our hearts and minds.
"Soul Sistas" always.

I had the pleasure of working with Annette at Busbee Elem in Wagener as the the assistant principal at the time, with my very busy younger son while he was in 5th grade. Not a pushover by any means, she showed great understanding and compassion for her charges, and disciplined with love. That´s all a parent can ever ask. Years later, our sons were in ROTC together at South Aiken High School, so our connection continued. RIP, AZ

Annette, known to me as Ms Hatchell, was one of my favorite teachers. When I was in the 8th grade she helped prepare me to speak in public before a large audience. She was such a wonderful and caring teacher and human being. Rest In Peace, Annette.

Annette "Z" was such a caring woman of faith who loved her friends and family with all of her heart. May Jesus comfort Gary, her family, and friends who were like family with the peace that only He can give them. I will miss her so much!

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Annette. She truly was an Angel on earth. She had a giving and caring heart. She loved her students that she taught over the years, both while in school and often for many years after as they started their lives. She endured adversity with a smile and a positive mind. She was a spiritual person who believed with all her heart in Jesus and the peace and comfort that God brought her, especially during the hard times. We will miss her special smile and her twinkling blue eyes. May she Rest In Peace in her heavenly home.
