Rest easy, Don. I hope that you and Kathy are having a good laugh. I can hear her saying... well, it took you long enough to get here! God bless.

Dear Don
When Bishop Nick telephoned to tell us of your passing, so many memories came flooding back to us.
I remember our son Brett´s Christening. We have a photo of you holding Kathy in your arms joking that she was your baby. You were both Brett´s God parents.
I remember all the Christmases at your house and Mimi´s, with all the loving family present.
I remember when you both adopted multi cats at one time, as you said that they would be sad if they were separated from their litter mates. I think Rambo was the last survivor.
I remember when you visited us in Mexico and you required dental work and how thrilled not only with the workmanship but with the low cost. You loved it here and we spent time taking you around our little town hearing the ooos and ahhs from you.
I remember looking forward to receiving the Bermudian magazine and the Diana Amos calendar every year.
There are many more memories, too many to recount.
As the saying goes, all good things come to an end and so my dear man, you are now with Cathy and all of your multi kitties.
God Bless and RIP

Sad to hear of Father Don's passing, such a wonderful man, worked with him at St. Marks Church and ESU. Our boys really enjoyed their time with him and we were happy he was able to officiate at Nicholas and Jess's wedding. May he rest in peace and reunite with Kathy.

Sending our love and condolences to the family of a dear Father Don. I kinder, more gentle man you will never meet. Don married us 18 years ago and his guidance and strong love endured for many years. We still say - what would Father Don say whenever we need some support and a tender moment. He lives on in us all and a wonderful life should be celebrated. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. RIP Father Don and Thank you. So much love

May you rest in peace my friend. I have known Don since he first arrived in Bermuda in 1956 as I worked as an eleven year old at the Botanical gardens on Saturdays and school holidays and then later at Tulo Valley Nursery. He remained a friend for life.

During my short period of time knowing father Don whilst caring for him was extremely memorable. He taught me things which I would have never known otherwise. He truly was an outstanding person in his field as a horticulturist and as a man of God. It was a great pleasure meeting him and he will always have a place in my heart. R.I.P my strong one. My condolences to all his love ones.

Please accept my sincerest condolences to the family, friends and congregations of Rev. Don Moore. May the LORD grant His comfort, help and hope even at this dark time.
It is with deep regret to learn of Rev. Don's passing - he wore many hats which also included being a recent member of the Bermuda Botanical Gardens Steering Committee 2020 - 2022. I learned from Rev. Don that he was a Royal Botanic Garden Kew trained horticulturalist who came to the Bermuda Agricultural Station in the mid 1950s. He was particularly involved in the re-afforestation of the island in the aftermath of the Bermuda Cedar Scale Epidemic. Rev. Don was a contemporary of the late horticulturalist J. Hubert Jones and together their horticultural work helped re-green the island, which saved visual quality for Bermuda's Tourism industry at a time when our Agricultural sector had collapsed. Their work also helped bring about transformation of the Agricultural Station into the Bermuda Botanical Gardens on the 17-Apr-1958. Rev. Don was the first Superintendent under the renamed Botanical Gardens. He started the first Horticultural Apprenticeship Program in 1960 and was mentor to Peter Truran who later became an iconic BG Superintendent during the 1970s - 2000s. Rev. Don was on staff when the Camden property was added to the Botanical Gardens in 1965, and he led landscape improvements and collection development of the Camden addition throughout the 1960s. Rev. Don told me one of his cherished horticultural accomplishments was the introduction of the striking Silver Buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus sericeus) to Bermuda, which is now grown and seen throughout the island. Don Moore resigned from the Bermuda Botanical Gardens in 1970 to pursue careers in business and pastoral work, but he never lost his love for horticulture. Like many, he despaired over the decline of the Botanical Gardens in later years but became encouraged by the Garden's 2020 renewal effort and willingly offered his assistance and historical insights by participating on the BG Steering Committee from 2020 - 2022, despite being in his 90s! His input was greatly appreciated and was still being sought for advice even up to the time of his passing.
Don Moore played a significant role in creating what we now know as the Bermuda Botanical Gardens. It is our steadfast aim that the Botanical Gardens Steering Committee will carry on Don's legacy and passion by pressing toward the Garden's renewal and accreditation.
Sincerely,
Danny R.M. Simmons (for)

So saddened to hear of Fr Don's passing.
I'm so thankful for his relationship with my late boyfriend Eddie and I.

Rest in peace Fr. Don.
