Tim Biggerstaff N. Charleston - Tim Biggerstaff, 88, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Betty Self Biggerstaff, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 3, 2021. His graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 1:15PM at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM to 1:00PM, at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. NORTHWOODS Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Rd., North Charleston. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Tim was born January 15, 1933 in Rutherfordton, NC, son of the late Floyd Biggerstaff and Mary Lee Kizer. He graduated with his Master's Degree in Wood Technology from NC State University in 1963. Tim took that degree and went to work for the Westvaco Pulp and Paper Company, where he retired after 30 years of employment. He also founded Trident Lab Services, an Operations and Analytical laboratory in 1976, as well as faithfully serving his country in the United States Army. His hobbies included woodworking and working on the farm, raising Angus beef. He is survived by two sons, Michael Biggerstaff (Chandra), Daniel Biggerstaff (Patty); daughter, Melinda Lewis; seven grandchildren, Caitlin, Elizabeth, Jillian, Samuel, Jerry, Jessica and Stacy; six great-grandchildren, Stella, Bellina, Juda, Cameron, Conner and Holly and one sister, Gerry Berry. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Arnold and one brother, Jack. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made in Tim's name to: Homestead Hospice and Palliative Care, 133 E. 1st N. Dear Family,
So sorry to hear of Tim's death. I worked with him for a number of years at Westvaco, and appreciated his knowledge and experience in the environmental area, especially wastewater treatment. Tim was personable and helpful to many people and will be missed.
