I would like to express my condolences to Barry's family and to all who knew him. It was only a few days ago that I learned of his passing. I attended St. Patrick school and BEHS with Barry, but I had only perhaps seen him once or twice during the ensuing years. Anecdotally, when Barry and I were in our early grade-school years, we would often race each other in our arithmetic tests to see who would finish first. I usually won the speed part, but also came in last when it came to grades.
Even though, as I have said, we never had a friendship beyond our school years, I shall miss him, knowing that he is no longer with us.

Where can I possibly find the words for the sadness I am feeling in the loss of such a treasured friend. You were so much a part of my past for all of my most important times in Charleston. Barry was a true friend to all and would stop at nothing to make sure his friends were okay. A person who even if you hadn't seen him on a while you were able to pick up right where you last left off. His family and friends were his world and he always conveyed that when you were with him. I LOVED THAT GUY and his absence leaves a hole that no one could ever fill. My love and prayers to all who loved him so much.

To Barry's family,
I am so sorry for your loss. This news makes my heart sad. Barry lived across the street from us on IOP. He was a great friend to my Daddy and when my Daddy passed away, he was an angel to my Mama. He had the biggest heart and most gentle of souls. His smile was contagious.
My entire family feels this loss.
May God bless you all.

Betty,Barbara,Raymond,Pat and Family:
I was truly saddened to read that my old friend, Barry, passed away. Please accept my sincerest sympathy.
As you know, I knew Barry in our early days at St Patrick's and Bishop England and the Knights of Columbus. I can honestly say without any hesitation that I always liked Barry. To this day I still smile with just the mention of his name----all of my memories of him are pleasant! He gets my highest compliment: Barry Campbell was a nice person.
God Bless Barry and God Bless all of you.
Sincerely------Allen Young

My Dear Brother in Law...Barry, Thank you for caring about me. You always made sure that I was doing okay with everything in my life and you would always let me know that you were there if I ever needed help. You cared for me like a sister.
