William Beckett Sr. Obituary
William Walter Beckett Sr. (Bill) 80 of Groveland passed away May 26, 2022 surrounded by his family. His battle with serious medical issues over the recent years showed his strong will, determination and courage in facing life’s challenges. Despite the pain he stayed strong until the end without any pain medication.
He is proceeded in death by parents Wesley and Mildred Beckett ,wife Carol Sue, (2) sons William Wesley “Rock” and William “Junior “ one granddaughter Renasia , daughter in law Lawanda and adopted son Shane.
Survived by: (2) sisters Mae Faulkner (Hurricane, WV) and Judy Thomas (Teays Valley, WV ), (5) Children: Alvin (Rena) Groveland, Lloyd “Mouse” (Lachele) Mascotte, Hazel (Debbie) Summerfield, Michelle (Richard) Groveland, and Noah of Groveland. 16 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren, former wife Lou Jackson (Bellview), one niece, several nephews a ton of friends and family.
Born in Hurricane West Virginia he moved to Groveland, Florida in 1985. He was a born again Christian strong in his faith. Lifelong mechanic, owning his own Auto Repair business for over 50 years. Bill was never the Cadillac kind he was a true Chevy man. He loved his truck “Old Blue”. Throughout his life he accomplished many things. His greatest accomplishment was raising his kids.
A family man who loved the simple side of life. He enjoyed boxing (Former Golden Glove Boxer), fishing, racing cars, CB radios and spending time with family and friends. He was humble, never met a stranger, loved to talk, and loved helping people. He is a legend and the “Boss”.
Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 5pm - 8pm.
Funeral services will be held at Becker Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11am with burial to immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Flowers for the services can be sent to the funeral home.

Youre going to be missed bye so many Bill. You were such a great guy and helped me so many times just bye talking to me when my son Casey passed. We had many conversations at the Cemetery. Every day you were there. I knew when you werent there much anymore you werent feeling well. You had a big heart. Rest in peace. Sending prayers and hugs to your children, family and friends.
