Vicente' Ramirez Obituary

Vicente’ Ramirez, age 96, of Imlay City, Michigan died Monday, December 20, 2021 at home in Imlay City.  Vicente' Ramirez was born January 1, 1925 in Loraine, Texas.  He is the son of the late Juan and the late Josephina (Aguirra) Ramirez.  Vicente’ grew up in Texas.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 4/26/1945 to 9/20/1945.  He married Rosa Margaret Elk on August 12, 1950 at Almont, Michigan.  Rosa died in 2018.  Vicente’ and Rosa have lived in the Imlay City area for the last  70 years;  

Vicente’  was employed by Fisher Body in Flint as a Factory Worker   for 25 +  years.  He helped coach in Slow-Pitch Softball Leagues in 1970's and 1980's.  Vicente’ was a former member of the First Mexican American Baptist Church in Imlay City.  He and his family are now participating  with the Crossroads Baptist Church.

He is survived by:  daughters: Rose (Dan) Govitz of Attica, MI and Sue (Jim) Rose of Attica, MI;  sons: Nacho (Kitty) Ramirez of Imlay City, MI and David (Cookie) Ramirez of Imlay City, MI;  sisters: Louisa Ramirez of Imlay City, MI and Mary Ramirez of Imlay City, MI;  brother: Nacho (Irene) Ramirez of Imlay City, MI;  sister-in-law, Esther Ramirez of Florida; and  grandchildren:  Daniel Vincent Govitz and Joshua James Govitz.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  Vicente' was preceded in death by his wife: Rosa Ramirez; son: Vicente' Ramirez, Jr.; daughter Christine Ramirez; brothers: Demetrios Ramirez, Paul Ramirez, Joe (& Shirley) Ramirez.

The funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 6835 Weyer Road, Imlay City, MI.  Reverend Jeff DuFour, pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church will  officiate.  Burial will follow  in Imlay Township Cemetery, The family will be available for visiting hours  from 2  -  5  &  6  -  8 pm  Monday, December 27th  at Muir Brothers Funeral Home Of Imlay City, 225 N.
