VERNE DELLINGER Obituary

Verne Scott Dellinger died on Thursday June 30, 2022 with his family at his bedside, following years of illness. Scott was born on August 21, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Mary Alice and Elmer Scott Dellinger. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kay Wilson. Scott is survived by his wife Kathy of 56 years, his daughter Dr. Tracy Dellinger, his son Colonel Scott Dellinger, daughter-in-law Carmel, grandchildren Chase, Clay and Sydney, and his brother Oliver Jack Dellinger. He is also survived by an extended family in Kansas, Colorado, and Missouri.

Scott’s professional career started as a draftsman, but his strong work ethic earned him a fulfilling 40-year career as a procurement executive for engineering and construction companies in the petrochemical industry.

His hobbies and interests included spending time with family, golfing, fishing, traveling, woodworking, and fixing anything that was broken.

I was so sad to hear of Scott's passing. I have such great memories of Scott at many of the Dellinger Family Gatherings, sadly we don't have the chance too often anymore with everyone spread out and many miles between us. Our family was built on and has always been filled with great love and support, I hope that you are feeling this coming across the miles surrounding each of you now at this time of loss. I didn't get to see Scott much over the last few years except at times of loss of other family, but Scott was always a ray of sunshine when we would get together. God Bless each of you and I send my love!

May he Rest In Peace. All I knew him as was an extremely fond supporter of his son. Such a great leader of his family. I remember spending that little time of my life at their house fondly.
