Trey Randall Swenson was born on September 12, 1995, in Austin, Texas to Randall and Melissa Swenson. Growing up in Elgin, Texas, Trey attended Elgin High School, later going on to Texas State University where he graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems.
After college, Trey moved into an apartment in Austin with his sister and best friend, Shelbi, beginning his first job in tech sales with Canonical. It was during this time of immense personal and professional growth that Trey found his first and only love, Blake. The two were infectiously happy together and for the first time Trey was able to be his most authentic self.
Goals for the future and plans for success were always an important aspect of Trey’s life, starting from childhood. Saving every penny for his college expenses and ultimately paying off his entire tuition before graduation, it has always been clear Trey achieved anything he set his mind and heart to. Most recently, Trey was looking forward to life with his little family and new puppy, Maple – as well as his recent promotion to Account Executive at work. Trey was also hatching plans to acquire his first home in the next few months.
Trey loved traveling, time on the lake, all things interior design, dancing, margaritas at Enchiladas y Mas, video games, cooking, skateboarding, working out, listening to Britney Spears on his record player, his puppy, Maple, and spending time with family and friends.
Trey always exhibited such a positive outlook on life. Rarely would you see him without a smile. He was extremely giving, caring, and required nothing in return. He had daily check-in chats with his mom, and without a doubt was the absolute centerpiece of our family. Always the one to coordinate our functions down to every menu item. He looked up to his older brother, Tyler, for guidance and advice on life, and took care of his sister, Shelbi, and truly loved being with them. All the 'sibz' were extremely tight and it is because of him that our family has had the privilege of remaining so close.
He is survived by his loving grandmother, Lou Arbuckle, parents, Melissa and Randy, his older brother, Tyler, and wife Allie, his older sister, Shelbi, his partner, Blake, and his puppy, Maple, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins along with countless other supportive family and friends. He is preceded in death by grandfathers, W.E. Arbuckle Jr. and Merle Swenson and grandmother, Pat Hunt. We all look forward to carrying on Trey's legacy.
Tragically, Trey passed away in the loving arms of Jesus on January 8, 2022.
Rest in peace, brother.

I got to work with Trey for a brief time as one of his customers. Every interaction was not just professional but also enthusiastic and warm. He was always looking for ways to understand and meet my needs. I found myself jealous of those who got to work beside him. He will be missed.

Words can't express how I feel. You were a shining light in so many lives. Those eyes, your smile and how you expressed your words made others gravitate to you. Love you Trey!! "My little ketchup man."

Trey was someone who was keen to help. He was one of the most incredibly nice people I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with, and was a mentor and role model to me. He was humble and always gave people the benefit of the doubt. That is how big his heart was.
After speaking with other coworkers and friends and hearing how open and honest he was about his dreams, we came to realization that we need to live like Trey did. We need to tell others our dreams and aspirations or else they will fade away with us and never be known. I'm honored and privileged to have learned Trey's dreams.

I have felt nothing but happiness and positivity radiating from Trey since I met him. He had such an amazing smile, and the most upbeat attitude, like, ever. Even watching scary movies, he was always finding something to laugh at. Its been a while since we talked but luckily, I know he knew how loved he was by me and everyone else in his life.
He lived his life blissfully and it was beautiful and inspiring to see. Trey was truly an amazing person and I feel so lucky to have known him. I am sending so much love and so many prayers to The Swenson family and to Blake during this time.
