Sylvia Bailey Obituary

Sylvia Perry Bailey, 90 of Princeton died Wednesday, July 6, 2022 of a short illness. Born February 17, 1932 in Rock, WV she was the daughter of the late John Martin Perry and Nell Boyd Perry Tyree. She was a graduate of Matoaka High School and former Homecoming Queen. She took numerous banking classes to further her career. Sylvia was retired as Vice President of First Community Bank (formerly Princeton Bank & Trust Company) in Princeton. She was of the Baptist faith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Bailey and one brother, Norman Perry. Survivors include two sons, James A. “Jim” Bailey, Jr. and wife Ann of Bland Co., VA and Marty Bailey of Princeton; one daughter, Suzie Bailey of Princeton; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Perry of Richmond, VA. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Princeton with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton by 10:30AM on Saturday.
