Stephen “Scrapman” Nitz
Age 58, of Dalton, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born Sept. 28, 1958 in Buckhannon, WV to the late Verlin and Virgie (Howard) Nitz. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1977 and was the owner and operator of “Scrapman Steve” in Dalton. He was a member of Sons of Herman in Massillon. He was a passionate euchre player was a constant cut up and was fun to be around.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Wilson) Nitz of Dalton; Daughter, Angie Nitz; Son, Joseph (Jan) Pelfrey of Dalton; Companion, Debbie Papic of Alliance; 4 sisters, Barbara Baum of Minerva, Sondra Bailey of Canton South, Linda Lanham of Carrollton and Sherry (David) Small of Austintown; 2 brothers, Roger (Jean) Howard of Hampton, WV, J.R. “Verlin” (Loretta) Nitz of Minerva. He is preceded in death by a son, David Pelfrey, 4 brothers, John, Earl and Danny Howard and Cedric Nitz.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Gabriel Norris officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9-11 a.m. prior to the services.

The most caring and loving brother anyone could ever ask for. We were so close and l don't know what I'm gonna do without you , you was always there for me and the rest of your sisters and almost anyone that needed help. I will miss you a lot cause we spent a lot of time together. We was always there for each other. I'll miss our visit and going and doing things together.
