Roberta Carto-Gomez Obituary
Roberta Angela Carto-Gomez was born on September 11, 1974, in Guyana, South America. She migrated to Brooklyn, New York in March 1990 and settled in Clermont, Florida in December 2004 where she passed away peacefully at the age of 47.
Her first job was as a cashier at Marshalls. She then worked as a photographer for Kodak at Circle Line Sightseeing where she developed her love for photography. After 9/11 she moved to Florida at the encouragement of her best friend where she started her career in Food & Beverage as a hostess at the Omni Hotel. She later worked for Guckenheimer Corporation as a catering manager, The Walt Disney Swan & Dolphin as a Room Service Attendant and as a Banquet Server at Universal Studios. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed horseback riding, Walt Disney Parks, the beach, and Sunflower Picking with her daughter. She loved dining out, having breakfast with friends, enjoyed a good margarita, fashion and being a wild child.
Roberta met her husband Silvestre in 2000 through a mutual friend and they were married in 2006. They had their one and only child Selina in January 2007.
Roberta is preceded in death by her mother Joanne “June” Rambarran.
Her memory is left to be cherished by her husband Silvestre, daughter Selina, father John, Aunt Bunny, sisters Ruchera, Beverley, Samantha, brother Ronald, nephews Zakaria, Ezekiel, nieces Zahara, Melanie, best friend Chauncey, aunts, uncles, cousins, father and brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s in New York, Texas, California, Canada, Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad, Puerto Rico, England and numerous friends and family members.
The family of Roberta wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for all the love and support you have shown.
After the services, a repass will be held from 12:30pm - 4:00pm at:
