Richard Lake, Sr. Obituary

Richard E. Lake, Sr. 87 of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 10 am Thursday at Llano Cemetery with Jade Lake officiating. Military Honors will be by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S, Osage St.

Mr. Lake was born on January 15, 1935, in Hackettstown, NJ to Frank R. and Elizabeth (Sigler) Lake. He moved to Amarillo in 1978 from Hope, NJ. Richard enlisted in the Army on Oct. 1, 1957. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 29, 1960. He retired from Pantex, where he worked as a custodian for many years.

Richard was a master at repairing things. He enjoyed building model trains and towns as well as intricate doll houses. He was very creative and enjoyed building things. Richard was a faithful, hardworking husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou and a son Robert Michael.

He is survived by two sons, Richard "Rick Lake, Jr. and his wife Jade and Thomas "Roo" Lake; two daughters, Krisann "Kris" Lake and Roberta Lynn "Bert" Miller; three grandchildren, Brittany, Chloe and Frieda and two great-grandchildren, Kashlyn and Cheyenne
