Petronilo Perez Jr. Obituary

Petronilo (Pedro) Perez, Jr., passed away at the age of 80 in Abilene, Texas, on January 13, 2022. A Memorial Service honoring his life is planned for 10:00AM, on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Freedom Fellowship, 941 Chestnut, Abilene,Texas.

Pedro was born on August 14, 1941, in Floresville, Texas to Petronilo Coronado Gonzales Perez, Sr. and Maria Longoria Flores Perez. As a child his family moved to Weinert, Texas, where he attended Weinert schools.  Pedro was pre-deceased by his parents, his maternal grandparents, Maria Flores and Juan Nepomuceno Longoria, his paternal grandparents, Domingo Gonzales and Vernalda Coronado, his great-maternal grandparents, Juan Jose Longoria and Pilar Samora Mesa and 1 brother, Vicente F. Perez, of Goree, Texas. 

He is survived by his five children; Elma Garcia Pruneda Faz and husband, Richard of San Antonio, Texas, Rebecca Perez Lopez and her husband Julian of Abilene, Texas, Edward Perez of San Antonio, Texas, Louis Perez and his wife Wendy of Waco, Texas and Diana Perez Hernandez of Abilene, Texas. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; Jessica, Juan and Julian Pruneda, Jeremy and Michael Ruiz, Julian, Eliana and Jacob Lopez, Matthew Ramirez and Madison Lopez, along with fifteen great grandchildren and many church friends from Freedom Fellowship and the Highland Church.

The family is thankful to Dr. Kelsi and Dr. Simpson and all the Hendrick Hospice staff for their love and care during Pedro’s last days. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made honoring Pedro’s life to Freedom Fellowship, in care of the Highland Church of Christ, 425 Highland Ave., Abilene, Texas 79605.
