Mr. Eddie B. Woodson Obituary
United States Army Veteran, Mr. Eddie B. Woodson of 311 North 7th Street, Vienna, Georgia died Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Piedmont Macon Hospital in Macon, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the New Light International Outreach in Cordele, Georgia. The burial, with military honors, will follow at Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
On July 26, 1953, the union of Eddie Lee Woodson and Mattie Frances Stokelin Woodson was blessed with the birth of a son. Born in Dooly County, Georgia, he was named, Eddie B.
The foundation and importance of an education was taught to him as he attended the Dooly County Public Schools thru the 6th grade. He completed high school at Franklin Morrell High School. He later earned an Associate’s degree from St. Leo College. He also committed himself to the service of his country by enlisting in the United States Army. Having served with honor and distinction, he completed his enlistment and earned an Honorable discharge.
Eddie B. loved the Lord and willingly served him in every aspect of his life. He was a faithful member of New Light International Outreach in Cordele, Georgia. Never one to meet a stranger, it was never a doubt that he loved his family as well as his church friends and family.
Service to God, to family and to community were the pillars of which he lived his life. When not spending time with his family and friends or serving at church, he served as a member of the Dooly County Board of Elections and with the Dooly County Commissioners. He worked as a Poll Worker during elections for many years and also served as a Little League Coach with the Dooly County Recreation Department.
He will be forever loved and missed by the “Love of His Life,” his wife of 24 years, Linda C. Woodson of Vienna, Georgia; his children, Laya Claybrook (Lawrence) of Augusta, Georgia, Condell Woodson of Trenton, New Jersey, Natasha B. Woodson of Wilkes-Barr, Pennsylvania, Shecaniah L. Chives of Vienna, Georgia, Idris Kennedy of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Taeyonna Johnson of Pleasantville, New Jersey; his grandchildren, Natasia, Stephen, Condell S., Condell W., Jamill, Lawrence, Lydia, and Zion; five great grandchildren; his sisters, Patricia Grady (Edward) of Portland, Oregon and Laura Lester (Alvin) of Pinehurst, Georgia; his brothers, Bob Lewis (Barbara) of Jonesboro, Georgia, German L. Woodson (Barbara) of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Thomas J. Woodson (Lavina) of Newark, New Jersey; his aunts and uncles, Nancy Stokelin of Mays Landing, New Jersey, Celestine Woodson of Vienna, Georgia, Laura J. Stokelin of Austin, Texas, and James Lester (Alberta) of Miami, Florida; his goddaughter, April Core of Warner Robins, Georgia; his in-laws, Ella Corbett of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Hattie Chives of Hernando, Florida, L. C. Chives, Jr. (Gloria) of Buford, South Carolina, Willie Chives (Anna) of El Paso, Texas, Claude Chives (Catherine) of Vienna, Georgia, and Wendell Chives of Woodbridge, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, other relatives and a multitude of friends who will miss his dearly.
