Michael Bera Obituary

Michael Olin Bera, 78, passed away on May 24th, 2022 in New Braunfels, TX.    

Michael was born in Grand Rapids, MI, to Margaret and Royce Bera on April 12, 1944. He graduated from Sarasota County High School in Sarasota, FL, June 1962 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1962. He spent 25 years honorably serving his country as a Mineman, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1991.

Mike attended several universities and was always learning. He had a passion for genealogy and loved researching information about his ancestors. Mike’s hobbies were woodworking, golfing, fishing, playing guitar, and teaching his grandchildren these hobbies.

Mike is survived by his children, Terasa Jacobs (Ben Abrams), Justin (Mindee) Bera, Joshua (Erica) Bera, Jebadiah (Ashley) Bera, Julie (John) Sanchez, Judy (Kevin) Horton, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and his siblings, Margaret Blatchley, Claudia Bera, Kim Bera, and Charles Bera. 

He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1390 Hanz Drive, New Braunfels, TX 78130; followed by the burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
