Maria Stephens 57, of Amarillo died Friday, May 27, 2022 in Amarillo.
Services will be at 11 am Friday, June 3, 2022 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Kyle Wilkinson of Trinity Fellowship Church officiating.
Maria was born on Nov. 19, 1964 in Amarillo to Margarito and Nancy (Garcia) Marquez. She graduated from Riverside High School in El Paso. Maria worked in the call center at Xcel Energy for many years.
Maria was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter and grandmother. She adored her family and friends and loved her grandchildren very much. She was a hard worker and loved helping others. Maria was a faithful member of Trinity Fellowship Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Alexis Lopez and her husband Joey of Amarillo; five brothers, Ricky Craine of Aurora, CO, Tony Craine, Randy Craine, Jonathon Craine and Mario Marquez all of Amarillo; 4 sisters, Anita Rodriquez of El Paso, Ramona Salazar, Lisa Martinez and Frances Arzaga all of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren, Alijah, Jailah, one baby on the way, Abdiel, Christopher, Heaven, Destinee, Tristin, Jasiah, and Gabby.

Maria was one of a kind and has made a lasting impression on my life. I will never forget from the moment I met her, she took me under her wing and was always so sweet, kind and had such a caring heart. I will forever cherish the memories Maria and I made over the years. Maria will be truly missed. I pray for comfort and healing during this time.

You were always so great to me, no matter what. You had the best words of encouragement to offer. I enjoyed being able to see you everyday at work, along with that contiguous smile of yours.

Maria was a soft spoken woman with a heart of gold like all of Aunt Nancy´s children. Aunt Nancy taught her children to put God first in their lives. I teach my children that too because I could see how wonderful God is in their lives. Maria will be with her family in spirit. You will feel her presence from time to time.
