Lawrence O'Donnell Obituary

Lawrence William O’Donnell, Sr., age 89, of Skating Rink Hollow Road, Bluefield, WV went to Join his forever love, Eloise O’Donnell on August 10, 2021.


 


Born on April 11, 1932 in Crystal, WV, he was a son of the late Shannon and Beulah “Brown” O’Donnell. He was a US Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a former coal miner who answered the Lord’s call to pray for the sick. He was known to visit local hospitals and pray with the patients. He was a former member of the Rock Independent Bible Church of God and attended Lorton Lick Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and his family. His favorite Christmas song was “Christmas time is coming” and he was always first in line to open presents. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters.


 


Survivors include his children, Pam Helmandollar, Lawrence (Tammy) O’Donnell Jr., Lee (Tiny) O’Donnell, Robert Terry (Lois) O’Donnell, Teresa (Johnny) Repass, with whom he made his home and Patti (Don) Lucas. Grandchildren, Micky, Jeremy (Michelle), Tonya (David), Mandi (Frank), Tracey, Robert Terry, Jr. (Megan), Andrew (Emily), Eric (Kantrell), Autumn (DJ), Leah and Dillon; Great Grandchildren, Desi (CJ), Shaun, Noah, Blake, Isaac, Taylor, Alaina, Kami, Peyton, Isabella, Parker, Reaghan, Channon, Aubrie, Uriah, Cameron, Maverick, Amelia and 2 on the way; and great-great-granddaughter, Paislee; Special friends and care givers, Lydia Davis and Amber Duncan; Brother, James “Bud” (Marie) O’Donnell; sisters, Lucy Hodges and Norma Jean; and several nieces and nephews.  


 


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Shaun Bragg officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Military Graveside Honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Micky, Jeremy, LT Terry, Andrew, Eric, Dillon, Frank, David, DJ, CJ, and Lydia. Honorary pallbearers will be Shaun, Blake, Noah and Isaac. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
