Jon Bergstrom Obituary
Jon Charles Bergstrom, age 81, born May 19, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN, passed to eternal life on March 6, 2022, of complications of Parkinsonism. Jon resided in Burnet, Texas.
Jon graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado. He earned a Master in Aerospace Operations Management Degree from the University of Southern California in 1970. Jon served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1984, serving 3 tours in Southeast Asia. He earned a Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Meritorious Service Medal, and AF Commendation Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters. He retired from the Air Force while serving at the 12th Tactical Intelligence Squadron, Bergstrom Air Force Base, as a Major. He was an active member of the Highland Lakes Habitat for Humanity, serving on the Board of Directors as well as several construction crews, building houses for families in Burnet, Marble Falls, and Kingsland. Recently he became a Friend of CASA at CASA of the Highland Lakes Area, supporting children in the care of the Department of Child Protective Services. Jon was an active member of the Marble Falls First United Methodist Church family for 20 years. He was loved and will be missed by many friends at this church.
Jon was preceded in Death by his parents, Haddon and Bernice Forsythe Bergstrom, and a sister, Barbara Bergstrom.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, April Bianchi Bergstrom, Burnet, Texas; his son, Jeffrey Bergstrom and daughter-in-law, Sarah, of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Jennifer Bergstrom-Diello and son-in-law, Mark, of Henderson, Nevada. Jon had 6 grandchildren, all living in the Henderson-Las Vegas, Nevada area: Gregory, Matthew, and Alex Bergstrom; Jonathan, James, and Jacki Anderson; and one great-grandson, Gregory Bergstrom. He was so proud of each of them, and he loved their telephone conversations. They gave him much love and joy.
