John Braile Jr. Obituary

John Joseph Braile Jr., 66, passed away on May 23, 2021. Services will be private.

John was born on June 24, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri and was the eldest of four children of Susan and John Braile Sr. John attended St. John Catholic Grade School, De La Salle High School until it closed, and graduated from Northeast High School.  He then went on to Penn Valley Community College for a short period of time until he informed his family he wanted to go to “Finishing School” because he was definitely finished with school.

John had an extraordinary passion for sports, and it was evident from an early age. He played baseball in grade school and high school. This love poured into his adult life with all sports. He knew players, statistics, and obscure information of all kinds. He could spend hours talking about his love of sports with anyone who shared in his interest.

John worked as a boilermaker for many years in Omaha, Nebraska.  He was employed at various liquor stores as a salesman, various nightclubs as a bartender, and then eventually owned his own bar ‘Johnny’s Trackside Inn’.

John was an extremely loving son, brother, and uncle. He will be most remembered for his humor and wit.  He never knew a stranger.  John always lit the room up with his comedy and even performed on several occasions as a stand-up comedian at Stanford & Sons in Westport.

John was preceded in death by his father John Braile Sr. and brother James “Jimmy” Braile. He is survived by his mother Susan (Polito) Braile, brother Ted (Marilynn), sister Teresa Lackey (Joe Brogoto), and loving nieces and nephews. John will be missed by all who knew him, especially his closest friends Larry Damiano and Carl George.

Just reminiscing about the fun times I always had with John when I was young. We did some fun things together like one day I worked with John and his Dad on his trash truck and John started yelling out loud, “Tony Caloroso’s working on a trash truck” I have many more stories I will keep to myself as fun memories of growing up together. John may you rest in piece cuz.

My deepest condolences to “my” Braile family. You had suffered so much tragic loss, I hope the outpouring of love from your family and friends give you strength.

I know that John is by our lords side holding Gram and John Sr’s hand, surrounded by Jimmy and all the others gone too soon from our lives. My God bless you all in this time of sorrow.

John will always be remembered for his wit, humor, and his love for his family. He was the love of my life and we had a life long special place in our heats for each other.

John you will be forever in my heart,
As we say in Hawaii, a hui hou, ku’u ipo (Until we meet again my love).

Uncle John,
I will never forget the memories we shared. Staying up late watching scary movies since the age of 4, having our heart to heart conversations on the back deck until it got dark. I will never forget the jokes you told me (some of which I cannot repeat) and the life stories you shared. I will forever cherish how much you adored me and the friendship we had. I will have the words “whaddaya say bae” repeat in my head for the rest of my life. I’m trying to have a level head but I miss you so much. I’m sorry for the times we argued and disagreed with each other, but no matter what we were inseparable. I love you with every bone in my body. Thank you for being the best uncle to me and my children. You will never be forgotten. Rest in paradise
