DAVIS, Mr. Jessie Jr.-age 84, of Flint, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday, July 21, 2022 with a 10:30am family hour at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., Flint, MI 48505. Pastor Samuel Berry III officiating. Calling hours are 1:00pm-6:00pm Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel, 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507. The final resting place for Mr. Davis will be Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint, MI.
Mr. Jessie Davis Jr. was born January 17, 1938 in Tuscaloosa, AL the son of Jessie Davis Sr. and Annie Mary Henderson. Jessie relocated to Flint, MI and gained employment at Chevrolet a division of General Motors. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served on the Security Ministry until his illness. He loved bowling and received numerous champion trophies. Jessie also loved preparing his famous sweet potato pies, working in his yard, traveling, spending time with his family and listening to gospel music.
Mr. Jessie Davis Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Daphnie (Quillie) Davis-Mayes, Tammie (Robert) Golidy and Jessyca Holland; grandchildren, Harold Payne II, Domanieke Davis, Cyrus Holland, Ariana Holland, JaNay Ferguson and Robert Golidy Jr.; great granddaughter, Amaya Payne; step sisters, Emma Nickerson, Deloris Brown and Mary Threatt; many nieces and nephews including special nephew, Kenneth Williams; mother of his children, Joe Ann Davis; a host of in-laws, other relatives and friends.
Jessie was preceded in death by: father, Jessie Davis Sr.; mother, Annie Mary Henderson; sisters, Gracie Broady and Lena Ward; brothers, James Davis, Roosevelt Davis and Jimmy Logan.
The family would like to express special thanks to: Hurley Medical Center CCU staff, Pastor Samuel Berry and the Macedonia Baptist Church family, Inspirational Voices, Security Ministry and our close family and friends who provided unconditional support.

Chubbs, we will love you forever. We remember your smile, sweet laugh and chuckles. You are incredibly kind and generous. Every time together was a good time. You have the biggest heart. Even though we are crying and missing you, we know you are not gone for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Knowing that you are happy and alive forever comforts us. To Tammy, Daphne, and Wendy, we are here for you and will be in touch to do anything we can for you.
