James Detweiler Obituary

          James G. Detweiler, of Perkasie, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp., PA.  He was 58.


          Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of Joyce (Hockman) Detweiler, of Perkasie, and the late C. Dale Detweiler. 


          A 1981 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, he attended East Stroudsburg State College, East Stroudsburg, PA, where he played collegiate soccer.


          A chef, Jim worked in various restaurants throughout Pennsylvania and California over the years.


          A sports enthusiast, he loved his dogs, gardening and tending to his yard.


          Surviving with his mother are two children, William Jonas Detweiler, and Emma Rose Kennedy; and a brother, David Detweiler and his wife Julie L., of Sellersville, PA. 


          His Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.


          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paul Detweiler Memorial Scholarship Fund, Gettysburg College Development and Parent Relations, Attn:  Joseph Gurreri, 300 Washington Street, P. O. Box 423, Gettysburg, PA  17325.


          Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA
