Howard Bland Obituary
Howard Junie Bland, 76 of 10112 Baltimore Rd. Ford passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the Chippenham Medical Center. He was known to many as "Junie" Junie began working at the age of 12 as a Farm Helper for Claude Fowlkes. He loved farming, driving the tractor, and bushhogging. He also loved to go Salt water fishing and hunting.
He confessed Christ and joined the Mount Poole Baptist Church. Junie was born on July 18,1945 to the late Raymond and Rebecca Bland. He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha Mae Vaughan Bland, sister Sarah Bland and a Mother in Law Leola Howard.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter Sonia Purcell of Alamogordo, New Mexico and a God daughter Peaches Parham. Four sisters, Mary Morgan, Shirley Gordon/Raymond, Elsie Bland (Devoted Caregiver) and Cheryl Trotter/Jerry Five brothers, Thomas Bland, Vernon Bland/Margaret, Carl Bland/Carolyn, Jessie Bland and Jason Bland. Brother-in-laws George Howard/Paulette, and Gregory Howard A host of Nieces/Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews (Devoted extended family members The Fowlkes, Edythe, BJ, Bobbie and Claude Jr.) A very Devoted cousin Louis Howard/Barbara, close cousin Cathleen Howard, close friends, Robert Davis and Lewis Henshaw, and a long time friend Edward Clarke.
Special thanks to Dr. Kirby D. Southall, Sutherland Family Practice, Liberty Dialysis Dr. Vijaya Chirumamilla, Adult Health Care Solutions, and Health South Nurse Morgan.
A homegoing service will be held on Sunday July 10, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Mt Poole Baptist Church, Ford, Virginia, with Rev. Roy Spratley, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday July 9, 2022 from 12 Noon to 7 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel.

God bless you and take care of you family. Everyone that knew Junnie loved him. He was such a kind and humble person. I thank God for the fun times we had on those fishing trips (and Junnie catching fish the size of his finger and keeping them :). We shared many laughs and great times that I will never forget.
