Heather Jakacki (Cooper)

We mournfully announce the passing of Heather M. Jakacki, on January, 8, 2022 in the Wexner Medical Center in Columbus at the age of 48. She was born March 21, 1973 in Alliance to Constance (Jackson) Biggs of East Rochester and the late Walter Jakacki. She was a waitress at several local restaurants including Classic 57 in Minerva and was a cook for the Minerva Local Schools.  She graduated from Minerva High School in 1991 and attended Kent State Salem.  She had a beautiful soul, a heart of gold and a contagious smile. She was the greatest friend, a loving mom and the life of the party. She loved the sun and spent her vacations at the beach surrounded by family and friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her life partner of 15 years Joshua Cooper, her mom Coni Biggs, her brother Colton Biggs, and her four children, Brooke Kinsey, Morgan (Dillon) Long, Jackson and Jordyn Cooper and her two grandchildren Guinevere and Milo.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 7:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating.  Calling hours will be held 2 hours prior to services from 5-7 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for Sarcoma Research.

My boyfriend Brad and I got to know Heather as Sunday morning regulars at the Classic 57 Diner, and what a pleasure it was! I can still see her motioning us to her section when we came in the door with that wonderful smile of hers. She always made us feel as if we were her special customers, and as we could hear her talk to other customers-she made everyone feel the same way. We are very sorry we did not hear of her passing until recently, as we would have very much liked to pay our respects to such a special lady in person at her services. The obituary write-up captured her perfectly..."beautiful soul, a heart of gold and a contagious smile". We are so very sorry to all her family and loved ones for their loss. In life one gets to know a few very special people who impact them, make them want to be a better person and who will be remembered always...that was Heather.

I wanted to express how terribly sad I am that Heather lost her fight. But what a fighter she was. She will forever be remembered for her smile, spirit, and laughter. She was the best mother and wife and friend to everyone. Though Heather’s life was much too short, she lives it right. I’ve been looking at all the pictures Pam has been posting and it’s made me realize I need to make sure I leave my family with the good memories as well. I started a new job and had to work the day of the calling hours. I am sorry I couldn’t be there in person to show you all my condolences. I love you Heather!

Josh, Coni, Colton and Families ~
Please feel our love, support, and encouragement in the hug that attaches to this message. As her 5th grade teacher, our classroom was filled with her beautiful soul, heart of gold, and that contagious smile. Your summary is so perfect! She always brought such fun and caring energy to all that she did. No matter the situation, you could count on her smile and vibrancy. She was a gift and a blessing to me and so many others! Her smile now takes a spot in each of our hearts.

I'm very sorry to the family. I knew Heather only from Classic 57 but I always enjoyed her personality and fun spirit. What a loss. May you each be comforted and in time have peace.
