Georgia Kilby Obituary

Georgia Ellen Kilby, age 77, of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia died on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  She was born in the Whitetop Community on September 15, 1944, to Zora Kilby Shepherd.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Dawn Kilby, her partner, Robert Williams, and two brothers.  She is survived by three sisters, Wanda and Wesley Buckner of Lexington, NC, Patricia and Jimmy Lawrence of Crumpler, NC, and Linda and Dennis Howell of Lansing, NC; one brother, Jerry Shepherd of West Jefferson, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

While Georgia was a quiet and private person who enjoyed being alone, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.  She was an avid reader who enjoyed reading her Bible.  She loved visiting with her sisters, Pat and Linda.

The family will honor Georgia’s wishes not to have any ceremony to honor and celebrate her life.  Inurnment will take place in the Weaver Cemetery in Whitetop, Virginia where she will take her place among her family in the grave location she selected for herself.
