Francis Edward Schuette (age 75), beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at his home in Canyon Lake, Texas. He was born on August 19, 1946 in Mathis, Texas, to the late Ben C. and Esther Ella Schuette.
Francis was a faithful Christian, Lutheran, and a man who embraced life with strong moral character, values and integrity. He was born a leader, commanding the attention of those around him with his kind heart, compassion and positive outlook.
Francis is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Janice Rae and five children: Jason Schuette (Michelle), Nile Wright (Julie), Rebecca Wright, Jennifer Goode (Joe), and Debora Kempf (Rob); thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters: Earline Paul (Blane), Marie Ann Barry (Sonny), Sherill Perez (Manuel) and two brothers: Howard Schuette (Vicki) and Randy Schuette (Eileen). He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben Sr. and Esther Schuette, sister, Betty Lou Monse, and three brothers; Ben Jr., Wilburn and Earl Schuette.
Francis took pleasure in hunting & fishing, country music, ranching, gardening, playing dominoes, but most of all, spending time Storytelling (chapter 2, paragraph 31) with friends & family. He hosted many family gatherings, such as, fish fries, BBQ’s, and hayrides.
Francis worked hard all of his life. He managed an industrial laundry for 15 years before hiring on with Florida Gas Transmission, which later became a part of Enron. Fortunately, his pipeline division transferred to American Electric Power before the collapse of Enron. He retired from AEP, but continued to work for Energy Transfer until he retired at 65.
Francis lived in the Orange Grove, Texas, area for most of his life until 6 years ago when he and his wife, Janice, relocated to New Braunfels, Texas, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Braunfels at 777 W. San Antonio St. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 A.M. in the church sanctuary. A luncheon will follow at 12:30 P.M. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Francis Schuette’s name to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
