Edward J. McGann, of West Rockhill Twp. and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Vitas Inpatient Hospice at Jefferson Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia. He was 70.
He was the husband of Deborah J. (Miketta) McGann. The couple had celebrated their 34th Wedding Anniversary on November 28, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Julia T. (Fossler) McGann.
He was a graduate of the former Cardinal Dougherty High School, Philadelphia, where he was a member of the World Championship Marching Band. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from LaSalle University, Philadelphia, and later his Master’s Degree in Industrial Relations from St. Francis College, Loretto, PA.
Ed began his 50-year career in retail management with Wawa Food Markets for whom he worked 15 years in various roles and working his way up to a supervisory position. Then, he was employed by Weaver’s Way Co-Op, Philadelphia, while concurrently owning and operating the Corner Pantry Deli with his wife in the Fairmount Section of Philadelphia. Later, he worked for various retail stores throughout the area, most recently as a manager for Rite-Aid in Plumsteadville, PA.
He attended St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, PA.
Ed will be remembered as a very hard-working and religious family man. A nature enthusiast, he particularly loved working on his farm, gardening, and hiking. He was an avid reader, especially of American history and world news. A dedicated fan of Philadelphia Phillies Baseball, he also enjoyed theatre, building models and “Lord of the Rings”.
Surviving with his wife, he is survived by three children, Bridget Campi and her husband Mark, of Coatesville, PA, Edward I. McGann, of Orlando, FL, and Kevin T. McGann, of Woburn, MA; two grandchildren, Nick and Katie; a brother, the Reverend Thomas McGann, CMF, of Chicago, IL; and three sisters, Margaret Vollberg and her husband Edward, of Langhorne, PA, Mary Kredensor and her husband Eugene, of Bridgeville, DE, and Patricia Valenti and her husband Paul, of Wayne, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Strahan.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 30386, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.

Condolences to the McGann Family, we are sorry for your loss. Fr. Tom McGann served as Priest at our church parish " Our Lady of The Angel's Catholic Church" in Kingston Jamaica for many year. On behalf of our Church community in Jamaica we Pray God's strength on the entire family.
