Edward “Ed” Charles Betzer, II entered into Heaven on May 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 25, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio to Dr. Edward and Maxine Betzer. He grew up in Chardon, Ohio. He studied business and graduated from Hiram College. He married his high school sweetheart Patty, started a family and they later moved and settled in Mulberry, Florida.
Ed was still actively employed by Skyline Homes where he remains top salesman spanning multiple decades in row. He enjoyed golf, collecting antiques, old cars, riding Harleys, and a good cigar but most of all spending time with his family. He is best known as “Papa” and in his free time you could find him on a football field or soccer field watching the grandkids play sports or on “Papa’s Porch” playing with his grandkids. He adored his wife of 52 years more than anything and had a special bond with each of his kids and grandkids.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Maxine Betzer of Chardon, Ohio. He leaves behind his loving wife Patty Betzer, his three children Emily Cox, Elizabeth Young (Roland), Eddie Betzer III (Sarah), his 8 grandchildren; Lindsey (William), Summer, Seth, Haley, Grandin, Ellie, Edward IV, and Joey as well as his 4 great-grandchildren; Liam, Miles, Caroline and Cade. He also leaves behind a brother George Betzer (Karen) and a sister Karen Olsen.
Ed was a stranger to no one and a friend to all. He had a loving heart and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. We will treasure the memories we created with him.
A service will be held on Friday, May 27th at 11:30 a.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Lakeland, Florida. Condolences may be sent to the family @ seiglerfuneralhome.net.

Aunt Patty, Emily, Elizabeth, Eddie, and your families, Uncle Ed can rest now in heaven with all those in our families that have gone before him. What a reunion it must be! We will miss him his quiet humor, stories and kind gentle way about him. But his spirit lives in us all, and the good memories of him are precious and lasting. My love and prayers for you all.
It was very special for me to have the chance to spend time with him, and all of you last time we were in FL. I got to enjoy learning about his work and remember the many times our families spent together when I was growing up. God bless you and God bless you Uncle Ed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Patty, Emily, Liz and Eddie and your families. Uncle Ed was a fun loving guy. We didn’t get to see him much but I always enjoyed talking to him when our paths crossed. I remember he enjoyed teasing with those twinkling eyes and mischievous grin. He was loved for sure by all who knew him. Please know all in Ohio are with you in spirit and we love you. Jane, Bill and the kids

Uncle Ed, I haven’t seen you in a long time, but remember you as a gentle, quiet and nice person. It seems like only yesterday I was a kid playing in grandma’s backyard and could look across and see you in your yard. I knew you then as the guy dating Aunt Patty. Those early visits were always so fun for me. Time sure does go by so fast. I’m positive you will Rest In Peace as all the good ones do. God Bless!

Ed and I were both raised in Cleveland, yet we did not meet until Florida where we enjoyed a forty-year friendship. I have lost a good friend. My heartfelt sympathy to the families.

Everyone needs an Uncle Ed. He had this way of making you feel smart or special when you were around him. He shared himself with you. You knew he cared about you. He was a good person. He was good to people, and you saw that, and you wanted to be like him. He was a thinker, and he was a doer. He worked hard and he had fun. He led by example and when he had something to say, it meant something. He was a great role model for his nephews. He lived with meaning and he loved his family. I love you, Uncle Ed, you were a good man. Love, Eddie Ash (nephew), Hillary Ash, Ian, Ava, and Andrew Ash.

i remember as a kid how we wore him out in the pool- He'd throw us in the deep end and we'd swim back for more- his laughter was contaigous and he always was such a fun uncle! As a young adult visiting the Betzers in Fla it was always so evident how much he loved Aunt Patty and the kids!! My prayers are with you Aunt Patty, Emily, Elizabeth, Eddie and your families! XOXO

Mr. B was a father to many of us growing up and even into adulthood. You and Mrs. B gave me my best forever friend Emiky. I will miss your loving and stern words of encouragement. I have many fond memories from a young teen all the way to my late forties. You Sir are a Dad to be a role model after and friend. Always enjoying life and truly loved your family.
