ANSONIA: Dominick F. Sarracco, age 85, entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2022, at Seacrest Retirement Center in West Haven. He was the loving husband of the late MaryAnn L. Weslocky Sarracco.
Dominick was born at home in Ansonia on March 24, 1937, son of the late Anthony and Anna Troy Sarracco. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, Dominick was employed as a machine operator and inspector for Kerite Company in Seymour for thirty-two years, until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorable served his country in the United States Army. Dominick enjoyed bowling and taking walks. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.
Dominick leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Marianne Donahue (John Bogus III) of Milford, sons, Dominick M. Sarracco (Jill) of Shelton and Mark Sarracco (Nancy) of Inverness, FL, sisters, Helene Sarracco of Ansonia and Elizabeth Deneka of New Hampshire, grandchildren, Alisha Gotsch (William) of Ansonia, Michael Donahue of Milford, Kristina Sarracco of FL, Kayleigh Sarracco of MA, Ryah Fritzinger (Jeff) of TX and Riana Sarracco of FL, great-grandchildren, Liam and Brody Gotsch, Benton, Alia and Haisley Fritzinger and Aella Sarracco, sister-in-law, Domenica Sarracco of Brentwood, L.I. along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Sarracco and a brother-in-law, Richard Deneka. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the employees at Seacrest Retirement Center, especially Louis, Emma, Tammy, Vincent and Stephanie.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 9:30-10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. His funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment with U.S. military honors will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Mausoleum in Derby. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dominick’s name may be made directly to the Ansonia Animal Shelter, 1 North Division Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.
