DeTroy McFarland Obituary

Mr. DeTroy McFarland, 61, of University Park, IL formerly of Hickman died Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home.

Services will be held at noon on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Mr. DeTroy Lee McFarland was born October 18,1960, in Hickman, Kentucky to the late Willie E and Elvester McFarland.

He began his life with Christ at the Church of Christ Divine in Union City, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elvester McFarland; father, Willie E. McFarland; son Marcus Darnell Mcfarland and a sister, Dorothy Sanders.

His leaves behind seven children Rodney McFarland of (New Madrid Mo),Derrick McFarland of (Jefferson City Mo), Kenyetta McFarland of (Poplar Bluff Mo), Shanika(Travis) Shavers of Cape Girardeau Mo , Jeffrey McFarland of (Kennett Mo), Nakia McFarland of (Madison Alabama ), stepdaughter, Lekesha(Lonnie) Moss of Poplar Bluff; eleven siblings Josephine Warren of Hickman, Kentucky , Stella Browning of Union City, Tennessee, Vivian McFarland of Union City, Tennessee, Ethel(Robert) Shearrill of Dalton Illinois, Jeanette Martin of Union City, Tennessee, Brenda McFarland of Merrillville Indiana, Kathleen McFarland of Paducah Kentucky, Willie James McFarland of Fulton, Kentucky, George McFarland of South Fulton, Tennessee, Sky(Karen) McFarland of Lawerenceville, Georgia and Curtis McFarland of Union City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lee Andrea & Lee Aaron Jones , Lonnie Moss Jr, Kierra Johnson, Frayser Johnson, Angel Johnson, Marcus McFarland Jr , Makel McFarland ,Le’Aerea McFarland, Harlem Newsom Jersey Shavers,Shawn Shavers, Journey McFarland, De’Mario Nobles Jr., Sereniti White, Harmonii White and Kamryn McFarland; special friend, Stephanie Shaw of Chicago, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
