David Fulton Obituary

David A. Fulton, 79, of Ellisburg, passed away on February 5, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained from a fall.

David was born on November 26, 1946, the son of the late William J. Fulton and Alice Belle (Smith) Fulton. He graduated from Belleville Academy in 1964 and went on to attend  Morrisville ATC,  where he earned a degree in Animal Husbandry in 1966.

On July 5, 1969, David married the love of his life, Joan Kilborn, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. Together they shared many years of companionship and simple joys, especially taking walks through the woods, something David truly cherished.

For most of his working years, David was an over-the-road truck driver, a career that allowed him to meet many people and form lasting friendships along the way. He was known as a kind, quiet man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and valued the connections he made over the years.

David is survived by his loving wife, Joan Fulton, of Ellisburg; his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Robert Cave, Sr., of Chaumont; his cherished grandson, Robert Cave, Jr.; his nephew, Barry (Betsy) Ormsby; and his niece, Beth (Craig) Glodfelter.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Ormsby, and his nephews, Bruce Ormsby and Brian Ormsby.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m., at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the SPCA.

David will be remembered fondly by his family and the many friends he met throughout his life, and he will be deeply missed.
