Clifton Schmidt Obituary
Clifton Wayne Schmidt, age 60 of Devine, Texas passed away Friday, October 1, 2021. He was born May 3, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas.
Clifton is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Ranzau.
He is survived by his Daughter, Brandi Schmidt; Sister, Michelle Ranzau McKee (Kevin); Uncle, Ernie Schmidt, Uncle, Robert Schmidt; Mother of Brandi, Lorri Hendrick; girlfriend, Deborah Schulte; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Clifton graduated from Devine High School in 1979, and immediately went to work in the Oil and Gas industry. He was a loyal employee at West Texas Gas where he was a dedicated friend, mentor, and respected man by all who knew him.
When he was not in the oilfield, he was in the pasture tending to his cattle. Clifton enjoyed many things outdoors, especially hunting. You could always find him in his shop tinkering on various projects.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 2:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. family will be receiving friends between 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Hurley Funeral Home Chapel Devine, Texas. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, 10:00 A.M. Hurley Funeral Home Chapel Devine, Texas with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Per the family's request, masks must be worn during all funeral services. We worked together for several years on project on pipelines that Clifton was the manager over. We also worked together from 2015 to 2018. Clifton was a hard worker and was a strong believer in taking care of the area that he was over. Clifton will be mist in the Company for years to come. Brandi your father was a good man a hard man but I know that he loved you very much, I know that you will miss him and we all will miss him.
